Wairaka legend retell

 Gidday guys this is my waiaraka legend retell hope you like it

Wairaka was the daughter of the leader of the ngati awa tribe.They had just arrived at a beautiful beach. They had just arrived with the ngati awa tribe  .The men got off the waka first to gather food and check if the land was good.

Because the woman and the children had to stay on the waka they were in trouble because a big storm was coming and all the women and children shouted to try and warn the men but they were too busy trying to collect food and then the woman and the children shouted “ Were all gonna die”

Then wairaka had to make a courageous decision and back in those days it was considered tapu(sacred) and wairaka held the paddle in the with all of her might she shouted “Kia whakatane au i ahau”.

With one mighty push Wairaka had saved everyone who was on the waka.

When you go to the exact beach where wairaka saved her tribe you can see her standing on the jagged rock.
