Hi Angus. Are you in Japan? Are you standing in front of the Itsukushima Shrine? I went to Miyajima to see this floating gate in January. I was really excited to visit the island and this shrine. Unfortunately when I got there the shrine was covered in scaffolding and wrapped in plastic, as part of a restoration project. So I didn't get to see it looking as wonderful as it is in your picture. Have you ever gone somewhere for a special occasion and it wasn't open?
Hmmm...Angus, I'm guessing from the design of the building you are in that it is somewhere in Asia, but not sure where exactly. It also looks like a place I visited in Thailand.
